Working Parent/Caregiver Coaching Café Sessions!

- Hosted by the Incredible Family Team -
These small groups are designed to further build community support beyond the ERG sessions. Members are encouraged to select the same group month to month as best they can. Invitations to the coaching cafés will be sent to ERG participants following each session. Check out some of the topics below!
All Coaching Cafes are held on the 4th week of the month. Session days and time may vary. If you are interested in joining one of these sessions, email Kelly here: kelly@incredible.family

Month 1: July 18

Working Parent Frustration

Members start by completing a working parent burnout survey to assess the areas that are causing frustration. Additionally, they will learn how to name, claim, and tame frustration, as well as be able to acknowledge and understand why they are experiencing such tension. Members will work through a goal blockage exercise and be able to move past the frustration into a place of freedom.

Month 2:  Aug. 8

Get Out of the Parenting Pit

All parents have areas that they struggle with. Some areas are known, and others are a product of our experiences, biases, and personal agendas. Members will be guided through a reflection activity where they will pinpoint various “pits” as well as remedies to get out of the negative cycles and prevent it from occurring again.

Month 3:  Sept. 12

Shift to Strengths

Traditionally parents have adopted a deficit mindset when it comes to
parenting. This approach is based on punishment and conflict. Members will learn how to shift to a strengths mindset as well as develop their unique set of parenting strengths. They will complete an activity to help communicate how they can be their best at work and at home using their strengths.

Month 4: Oct. 10

No more hand me downs!

This session will look at the various parenting styles and how our own experiences as children shape how we parent and our expectations around parenthood. Members will write a letter to their younger parent self with tips and solutions to help transition to a more authoritative style with a balance of warmth and structure. Attendees will have an option to create family values and look at ways that their values align with the organization.

Month 5:  Nov. 14

The Juggle is Real

Do you dread your parenting responsibilities? Or do you enjoy the ways that you engage with your family? In this session members will utilize time management strategies and strengths to get out of the daily grind. Each person will complete a time audit to gain clarity on how they spend their time and craft a plan to intentionally engage in the things that matter most.

Month 6:  Dec. 12

Hunt the good!

Often the thing that causes us the most stress in parent discipline is a strength that is immature in our child. Our kids have strengths and when parents learn to discover and develop those strengths using positive habits there is less tension and conflict in the home. Kids feel confident exercising their strengths and parents feel confident that they are raising resilient kids.
